Although it is well known that luxury brands are quite careful with their products and very rarely apply discounts, some fashion houses reward their most loyal customers with some price reductions during certain months of the year.
Taking into account the importance of the perception of their image and the exclusivity that luxury brands maintain, it is a great effort they make to reduce the prices of selected merchandise, often working with high production costs, fighting global inflation and many more economic crises.
Wondering why luxury brands don’t discount? Check out the reasons here.
Below, we’ll show you which 4 luxury brands apply seasonal discounts and the conditions that must be met for customers to enjoy these unique opportunities.
1. Dior
The renowned French brand Christian Dior is one of the luxury houses that agrees to offer discounts to its customers. In general, it uses the private sales system, directed only to its most recurring clients. This system works by sending invitations to selected people, who then go to Dior’s website to buy items on sale from its previous collections.
Dior holds private sales days at certain times of the year, especially around the Christmas season, where it gives customers access to purchase garments from the recently passed fall/winter season. These collections include clothing and small accessories, but do not include handbags or other exclusive products.
Dior sometimes reduce its prices without promoting it too much through digital channels, this means that they may place a discreet sign in some of their stores, indicating an average of 20% to 40% off certain selected pieces.
2. Dolce & Gabbana
The Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana usually applies discounts of 20% to 40% on some of its accessories through private sales, they also do it through its website and taking into account the most outstanding customers.
Dolce & Gabbana offers small accessories and garments of the season. However, it sometimes also applies a small discount on handbags of the season, although they are not iconic or exclusive pieces.
3. Givenchy
French fashion house Givenchy has also applied some discounts in recent years, continuing the same path that other luxury brands have followed, Givenchy offers smaller discounts and focuses on clothing, accessories, and makeup. Discounts are carried out in private sales or through discount codes or electronic coupons.
Givenchy has been known for adding discounts to its seasonal handbags, just like Dolce & Gabbana. However, these bags are not usually the brand’s favorite or most representative thus, Givenchy maintains its status and exclusivity.
4. Gucci
The renowned Italian brand Gucci takes part in seasonal discounts, with discounts of no more than 20% or 40% on selected merchandise and from past collections. With this measure, Gucci tries to reward its regular customers and, at the same time, seeks to get rid of garments and accessories from previous collections as soon as possible.
Like Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci usually offers some seasonal handbags in its sales, but only in limited quantities and for a limited time. Other products offered at discount are accessories and selected garments.
